I Really DID Learn Everything From Golden Books!

Below is my explanation for purchasing this book, and Everything I Need to Know About Christmas I Learned From a Little Golden Book, as Christmas stocking stuffers for my daughter and granddaughter. I’m just sure there are many others that will identify with my story: I was born in 1946, soon after WWII. My mom and dad started buying me Little Golden Books right away. First they read them to me, then I read them -- over and over and over and over. When I was older, I packed them away and saved them. When our daughter was born, in 1972, I dug out my LGBs, read them to her and bought her more. She read them over and over and over. When she was older we packed them away and saved them. When our granddaughter was born, in 2001, we dug out our LGBs, read them to her, and bought her a few more. Whenever she stayed with us, which was often, she enjoyed reading them over and over. Now that our granddaughter is 14 years old, her LGBs, my daughter’s LGBs, and my LGBs have been packed away for a few years and we are saving them with great anticipation for the future! My two girls will enjoy receiving these books and we will share a special, three-way, moment of understanding…. and love. Thanks for making these available Sue Patrick.

Description

A humorous "guide to life" for grown-ups! One day, Diane Muldrow, a longtime editor of the iconic Little Golden Books, realized that, despite their whimsical appearance, there was hardly a real-life situation that hadn't been covered in the more than 70-year-old line of children's books—from managing money, to the importance of exercise, to finding contentment in the simplest things. In this age of debt, depression, and diabetes, could we adults use a refresher course in the gentle lessons from these adorable books.
